The Circle-Shaped Sky

I have a story. It is all about the little young frog and the old frog living inside a deep well. All their lives, what they know is that the shape of the sky is circle because the mouth of the well has a circle-shape. One day, the two frogs are having a conversation. "Do you know what is up there?", the little frog asks. "It's only a circle-shaped sky lad", the big frog answers. "I'm just so tired living inside this dark well and I want to go outside and look for a better home", the little frog says. "If I were you little frog, I would not leave this place because there's nothing there outside but just a bunch stupid circle sky and you might starve there", the old frog answers. The young frog decides to leave and go outside the well. "Are you sure you will not come with me and remain in this dark well?", young frog asks. "I will not come with you little frog, it's to risky and too difficult", the old frog answers.

Then, with determination and strength, the little frog jumps upward until it reaches the top of well. Amazed and surprised, the little frog jumps for joy of seeing such wonderful views outside the well. His heart beats so fast because of the excitement and happiness he feels of seeing the dancing trees, the singing birds, the flowing clear water, the colorful flowers, and the very bright sun. The little frog realizes that beyond the circle-shaped sky is a wide world full of colors, dreams, hopes and challenges for a better life.

The story tells us that we should not be afraid to come out of our little shells and discover the big wide world. If we are still imprisoned of our lack of confidence and fear from committing mistake, that would limit ourselves from discovering our real talents and potentials. We deprive ourselves from learning new things and ideas.

Lets break the chain of fear and come outside our shells. We should not be afraid to face our challenges in life because outside, beyond the well that we're hiding, awaits our dreams and our visions.

My Aveyond Adventures

I am an avid online 3D game player. I have always underestimated 2d games for I feel they are so boring because of their limited features.But one day, my friend had invited me to try playing Aveyond with her. I didn’t want her to get upset to me so without hesitation, we went to her house and played Aveyond.

As we started playin’ Aveyond, I begun to realize that 2D games are not afterall boring. I found myself sitting in a comfortable chair enjoying playing Aveyond. I really love the game because there are so many secrets and surprises to be discovered in the game. There are so many exciting mysteries and quests to be solved.

Playing the game Aveyond is like you are also watching a beautiful epic movie. The main character of the game is a beautiful girl named Rhen. She lives with her family in a village called Clearwater. Near their village, she found this mysterious woman named Talia asking for help. She brought Talia to her house and she was surprised that her father and the woman she brought know each other. Talia gave Rhen an enchanted ring. But then, few days later, Rhen was kidnapped and the ring was stolen from her. Rhen was brought to a place called Ghalara and became a poor slave.

In Ghalara, Rhen met Lars, her young spoiled master. One day, Lars with his friends, bullied Rhen. So angry, Rhen fought back by picking up a stick and unconsciously, Rhen released magic using the stick attacking Lars. Teachers from Shadwood Academy, a school for the sorcerers and sword swingers, who happened to be there were struck in what they saw.

The teachers of the Shadwood Academy are looking for gifted kids to study and become full-pledge sorcerers and sword swingers. They discovered that Rhen is no ordinary slave and they invited her to study in Shadwood Academy. Rhen became free from being slave and went to the academy located at Veldarah to study as a sword swinger (using sword that has magic in it.).

While studying in Veldarah, she found the ring that was stolen from her and bought it from a junk merchant. After she found the ring, Talia the priestess suddenly appeared and invited her to go to the Empress’ castle located also at Veldarah, with her. After talking to the Empress and Talia, Rhens big Adventure begins with her important quests of saving the druids and the lands from the demons and finally defeat Ahriman, the leader of the demons who wants to rule the world.

It’s up to Rhen, with the help of her friends Lars (the Sorcerer), Teijal the Vampress, Dameon the Sun Priest, Galahad the warrior, Pirate John the dragon rider, Mad Marge, and Elini the brave Amazon to save the world from Ahriman’s catastrophes and restore peace in the world.

Rhen’s adventure will lead her to discover her true identity and her connection to the Pendragon Family, the Royal family of Thai. The movie… I mean the game is about friendship, heroism, bravery, royalty, love, determination and the power of good over evil.

Never Apologize! Never Explain!

Being not sensitive causes wounds and painfulness to the people around you. You tend to hurt your friends, or your family or even someone you don't know through your actions and words. Inevitably, we sometimes commit mistakes because of our carelessness and tactlessness. What shall you do during these situations?

The people who molded you taught you to say sorry or ask for forgiveness. That is correct... but not at all times! There are times that asking for forgiveness and saying sorry and trying to explain your side can only complicate the situation.The person you cause wound could become more emotional and hysterical. Because he is in an emotional state, he might not understand the words that are coming out of your mouth.

So, the best thing to do is to just shut up! Make things up to him without apologizing and explaining your side. Do it with your actions by making good deeds to him or trying to be friend him again without mentioning the hurt you caused him. Most importantly, you should learn from your mistakes and change your negative attitudes so that next time, you will not commit mistakes again. Remember that healing a wound will take time. Remember...... "time will heal".

Swaying With the Wind

In going against the furious wind, many lives were endangered.

I disagree with Moses' decision of giving up his crown as a royal prince of Egypt. I am not against the Israelite. I just want Moses not to give up his royalty. I just want him not to sacrifice. If I were Moses, I would use my power as a prince of Egypt to liberate the Israelite from oppression and exploitation. Just like today, many people had come out in the open to expose the graft and corruption in the government and their security were compromised. They no longer can perform their daily work for income source for they have to hide because the government or the powerful persons they exposed were already threatening them or even tried to kill them.

Governor Ed Panlilio, a former priest and a governor of Isabela, Philippines, were invited by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to have a meeting in Malacanang Palace with her together with the other Philippine governors. In the actual meeting, each of them received a gift. When he opened the gift, he discovered that inside it was a bundle of 500,000 Pesos. He decided to expose this to the public through the media. For me, exposing that cash gift given to Governor Panlilio and the other governors, was useless. Indeed, what he exposed had helped the people to become vigilant.

Yeah, he had done the right thing, but what if the 500,000 he returned after exposing it will be used again in bribery. That would be awful. If I were Governor Panlilio, I would just go with the flow and keep the 500,000 money. Keeping the money doesn’t make you one of them. You have still options to choose from, either you’ll keep it in your personal savings, so, that would look like you join them or use it to help people who actually have not benefited from the tax that they have been paying.

If you cannot fight the forces of evil, just join them and make good out of it.

Hispanic Community

Looking Back to the Roots of the Hispanic Community through the Great Works of the Giants of Spanish Arts

The Nasher Museum of arts at Duke University located at Durham, North Carolina, has opened an art exhibition titled "El Greco to Velázquez: Art during the Reign of Philip III." This shows both Spanish masters in context with other accomplished painters of their time.

The exhibition has started last August 21 and will end on November 9, 2008. The exhibition is readily accessible to wide population, according to Juline Chevalier, curator of education at the Nasher, because of its bilingual presentation using Spanish and English language. English and Spanish version of its audio guide is provided in the exhibition. The Nasher also provides label text and text panels in Spanish language.The Nasher Museum states that the exhibition, "El Greco to Velázquez: Art during the Reign of Philip III," features 53 paintings which includes seven late works by El Greco, three works by Velázquez during his apprenticeship years and works by their contemporaries, lesser known but talented artists.

Sculptures and 50 pieces of glasses and ceramics are also featured in the exhibition.

The exhibition shows the grandiosity and sophistication of the Hispanic heritage.
“This is an opportunity to look at art that spoke to the roots of the Hispanic community," said Andrea Bazan, co-chairman of the El Greco advisory committee that the museum formed.

The exhibition features and reminisces the period (1598-1621) when Philip III was the ruler of Spain and when the Spain dominated the world. According to the Nasher Museum, this historical period of Spain--with its pageantry, religious passion, art patronage, fashions, political intrigue and literary accomplishments--rivals the eras of Elizabeth of England and King Louis XIV of France.

Po, the Panda Bear, is my pet in facebook. You see, he's so cute and adorable. He is also so sensitive. One time I scold at him and he suddenly cried and was so shocked with my voice raised at him. Everyday i wake him up from his sleep and pet him. I also cuddle him and it really tickles him. He is so funny. hahahahahaha. I love to play with him too. I am a pet lover especially to a cute panda bear like him. He doesn't bite me nor anyone who wants to play with him. He'z always in the mood because I am taking care of him always. Everyday, I go to the market to buy food for him. I want to buy him expensive foods but I cannot afford them because I got only limited penny in my pocket. So, my solution is I have to make more money, by poking, interacting, playing and cuddling with my friends' pets. If I'll have enough money, I'm gonna buy him the most expensive food in the market. Aside from food, I have to buy him some clothes and accessories.

Po, my pet, doesn't want to be alone. He wants me to be with him always. Whenever I leave him alone, I make him sleep first so that he will not be feeling lonely. It's like he doesn't feel I left him because every time he is awake, I am with him. He also does not like cruel people who hurts him physically and emotionally. You see, he is so sensitive. He doesn't have appetite for beef and pork. So when I feed him, I give him fruits, seafoods, pastries and vegetables.

He really likes to be cuddled and massage his stomach, that's why he always misses me because I always do those things to him. He loves also to play different games so I always play with him. He is really very energetic. We watch TV together everyday because he really likes entertainment. After a very tiring day, I lie beside him and make him sleep because he really likes to sleep with me.

It's really a big responsibility to have him because he is just like humans that need someone to take care of him so he they will always be healthy and always be happy. Like humans, he also needs affections and encouragements from me. When you take care of him with all your heart, in return, he will also be affectionate to you and he'll also love you. Po the Panda bear is my facebook bestfriend and I love him so much.

For Fat Louie

Fat Louie dear... Where are you? I've been waiting for you here... Lying on my bed at night, with my mind somewhere else. I can't sleep I've been waiting for you to come home. My mind is traveling through time... remembering the times that I hurt you and made you cry. I've been so stupid Fat Louie. I really hate myself and my heart bleeds for all the tears I've caused you. If only I could turn back time and do the right thing to you... but it has been done and I cannot anymore change it. Forgive me Fat Louie!

But Fatty dear... please believe that in my heart, I'm so madly in love with you. I'm so in love with everything about you since the day I've met you. My heart cripples in pain when sometimes I think that you'll gonna leave me someday. Fat, you've been with me for a long time... and I can no longer live without you. You have been my shoulder and my pillow when I need someone to lean on. Please don't leave me Fat Louie because you're my everything... I want to be with you for the rest of my life!

Fat Louie, I can't help wondering if you're fine and safe and sound. I feel so empty right now!... coz you're not here at my side. Please come home my dear fat... I miss you so much already. Please come here in my arms and fill my empty heart. Be with me here at my side coz I need you so much.
